Ticketing General Terms and Conditions
The buyer formally acknowledges having read and accepted the general terms and conditions of sale set out below before finalising the purchase of tickets.
This website is managed by the Kanal Foundation, whose registered office is at Quai de Willebroeck 3-6 in 1000 Brussels, registered in the Brussels register of legal persons under company number BE 06.24.73.786.
The present general terms and conditions apply to any sale of tickets carried out by Kanal or related activities through its website, insofar as they are not derogated from by special contractual provisions agreed between Kanal and the Customer. Consequently, the Customer may not apply its own general or special terms and conditions, even if these stipulate that they are the only ones that apply.
Kanal acts:
- as an organiser of its own productions.
- as a service provider for the sale of tickets for its own productions.
- as partners and co-producers for certain shared productions.
- as a service provider for other event organisers and/or room takers and therefore cannot be held responsible for any changes in date, location, price or cancellation of events resulting from a decision by the organisers and/or room takers.
A. Dispatch and booking fees
For an order placed through the Call Centre, an additional €3 will be charged for the dispatch costs (by post and e-mail). Tickets booked online can be printed at home ("print at home") or picked up at the cash desk for €1 per ticket (printing costs).
B. Right of withdrawal
After payment, no right of withdrawal applies.
Tickets can be exchanged, but only for a voucher. Exchange is accepted if the written request is made no later than 10 working days before the date of the concert or visit and is addressed either to Kanal-Centre Pompidou (administrative headquarters), Square Sainctelette 11-12, 1000 Brussels or to info@kanal.brussels.
Please enclose the tickets to be exchanged. Administrative costs: €5 per ticket exchanged (payment on site or deducted from your voucher).
C. Collection of tickets
Tickets already booked and paid for events taking place in the Showroom can be collected at the Kanal ticket office, Square Sainctelette 21 in 1000 Brussels.
Tickets for performances in the other rooms can be picked up at the reception desk one hour before the start of the event.
E. Expiry of the reservation
Any order not paid for within 15 working days will be cancelled.
F. Modification and/or cancellation of the programme
Changes to the programme, distribution, venue or schedule may occur for reasons beyond our control. These changes are announced on our website. In the event of cancellation or change of date and/or location, we will notify you in writing (e-mail) as far as possible. These changes do not result in a refund or exchange. Tickets will only be refunded in case of cancellation.
Kanal cannot be held responsible:
- in case of cancellation or postponement of a show
- for the content of the show
- for any change in artistic distribution
- for any changes to the programme
- for any change in the times of shows
- for any change in the allocation of seats as a result of a change in the seating plan in accordance with Article J.
The beneficiary of the ticket must comply with the rules and customs of the venue, regardless of the performance/exhibition or other event.
Kanal reserves the right to refuse access to the Concert and Exhibition venues for security reasons.
We reserve the right to cancel any performance or forbid access to the rooms if unforeseen circumstances or cases of force majeure oblige us to do so, such as (including but not limited to) bad weather, strikes, fire, water damage, illness of an performer, special measures imposed by the public authorities in the context of the fight against terrorism or prophylaxis against epidemics, etc. In such a case, we would propose another date as far as possible.
G. Discount for individual tickets
The external discounts in force are not cumulative and do not apply to the 1st price category at Kanal, nor to subscriptions. Current external discounts do not apply to combi-tickets.
For more information on our combi options and group rates, please regularly check www.kanal.brussels
I. Door opening
The doors of the rooms open half an hour before the start of the performances. Spectators must be seated before the indicated time. If you arrive after this time, you will in principle no longer be admitted to the room. In some cases, Kanal may decide to let latecomers in during applause or the intermission. Your seat reservation is then no longer valid. Thus, if your seats have been occupied by other spectators, it is impossible for us to assign them to you, so as not to disrupt the show. It is also cancelled in case you leave the hall during the performance.
J. Room capacity/privatisation
In the event of low audience attendance, or in the event of prophylactic measures imposed by the public authorities, Kanal reserves the right to reduce the usable space of the hall in order to comply with health standards or to increase the quality of the performance experience for the audience and for the orchestra or company. If necessary, on the night of the concert, we will therefore allocate you a seat of comparable or higher quality than the one you reserved or ensure that you are reimbursed.
Kanal reserves the right to reserve certain areas in the Showroom for private events. In these exceptional circumstances, Kanal undertakes to do its utmost to minimise the impact of this privatisation.
K. Customer obligations
The Customer explicitly agrees to provide accurate, current and complete contact details when ordering tickets. The accuracy of the data is essential to enable Kanal to notify the Customer in the event of a programme/room change. Kanal reserves the right, where it has reasonable grounds to believe that the information provided is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, to refuse or cancel the requested transaction. This data may be kept in order to guarantee the proper functioning of Kanal's service (see our privacy disclaimer on www.kanal.brussels).
Any falsification will be prosecuted.
Any form of sound or visual recording, including the taking of photographs, is prohibited.
It is strictly forbidden to smoke in Kanal.
It is forbidden to eat or drink inside the concert halls.
Your contact details enable us to keep you informed of our activities and to contact you in the event of programme changes. For our paper publications, please inform us of your address changes or let us know that you no longer wish to receive them by sending us an email at info@kanal.brussels. For our electronic publications, please refer to the corresponding page on our website if you wish to change your digital data or no longer wish to receive our newsletters.
L. Ticket
The ticket is to be presented on request. It is neither taken back, nor reimbursed (notably in case of loss or theft), nor exchanged, nor resold. Tickets may not be resold or transferred for commercial purposes. In the event of an applicable rebate, Kanal reserves the right to ask the Customer to show proof of the rebate.
In order to avoid abuse, any loss or other problems relating to tickets must be notified to us at info@kanal.brussels at least two days before the event.
In addition to paper tickets, printed versions of e-tickets or versions presented on smartphones are accepted at the entrance to the hall.
If you have not received your tickets or if you have lost them, we can resend you duplicate tickets. If a ticket is reprinted, only the latest version of the ticket will be recognised by the scanner.
M. Kanal's Liability
Kanal's liability is limited to the cover provided by its insurance policies.
N. Contractual relationship
These general terms and conditions of sale govern the entire contractual relationship between Kanal and the Customer, to the exclusion of the general terms and conditions of the purchaser. Any changes, derogations or additions to these general terms and conditions of sale must be agreed in writing. Kanal is entitled to modify at any time, and without prior written authorisation, the content of its general terms and conditions of sale and its commercial sites. Changes apply from the moment they are published on the website, unless otherwise agreed. The relations between Kanal and the Customer are subject only to Belgian law. In the event of any dispute, only the courts of the district of Brussels will be competent.
Protection of privacy
The data transmitted by Customers to Kanal is processed in accordance with the law of 8 December 1992 on the protection of privacy with regard to the processing of personal data. In accordance with the law, each Customer is entitled to have his or her data corrected or deleted.
